About me – TLDR

I’m a 15+ year veteran entrepreneur and have worked in small businesses for most of my career. I go to work every day to help entrepreneurs like us prevent burnout and achieve success.

More about Julie Bee

Julie Bee is the founder of TJB Media (2021) and BeeSmart Social Media (2008). She’s an award-winning podcast host, a leader, a professional speaker, and an entrepreneur. Julie is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program (10ksb) and a proud alumnus of West Virginia University.

Julie started her career as an accountant but quickly discovered that path was not a good fit for her creativity. After losing her job in 2008, Julie founded BeeSmart Social Media. Julie continues to serve as the founder of BeeSmart, leading her remote team and supporting them in delivering services to the clients.

Today, Julie focuses most of her time on helping business owners prevent burnout and achieve success. She does this through Momentum calls, workshops, delivering original content online, speaking engagements, and short-term coaching services.

Julie has been quoted and featured in FastCompany, Forbes, Thrive Global, and many more publications

She’s been a finalist for several prestigious business awards, including two Stevie® Awards for Women in Business (Best Young Entrepreneur and Best New Company), NAWBO Charlotte’s Rising Star award, and NAWBO’s Woman Business Owner of the Year award. Julie regularly advocates on behalf of small businesses, and she is also involved with community colleges in the Charlotte area to support and mentor locally-owned, minority business owners.

Julie Bee, Behind-the-Scenes

In her personal life, Julie is known for her personal core values – courage, support, openness, integrity, and playfulness.  She takes pride in being a great wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and community leader. She’s a proud graduate of West Virginia University, and despite currently residing in Charlotte, NC, she’s still a Mountaineer at heart.

Julie’s hobbies include stand-up paddleboarding, whittling, watching college football, tinkering with mechanical fixtures around the house, reading, learning, and volunteering for local non-profits. In her free time, Julie enjoys hanging out with her wife, Marcy. She also enjoys hanging out with friends, drinking a craft beer, and discussing how to make the world a better place.

My Why

I help business owners prevent burnout and achieve their definition of success so that they can have a positive impact on their local communities.

I believe anyone who has the determination and resilience to start a business and stick with it deserves a chance at success. By 2032, I will help one million business owners achieve that success.

Core Values

TJB Media’s core values are clarity, confidence, growth, being an ally, and resilience.

These values guide everything Julie and the TJB Media team do when helping business owners. We not only practice these internally in our own decision-making and actions, but we aim to work with clients who are aligned with these values.
