BEE Awesome Brief: People pay us for our knowledge and expertise.
sent by Julie Bee | March 30, 2023
Investing in yourself will often produce a large ROI for your business.
In a recent interview with Tatiana Tsoir, she said something that struck me like a lightening bolt. “People pay you to access your brain.” She was quoting Ron Baker, but it landed differently for me. For service businesses, this is an absolute truth. Even in product-based businesses, customers pay to access to knowledge, process, and resources unique to you and your company. These thoughts inspired this week’s big idea: constantly invest in yourself.
Investing in yourself comes in many forms. From classes to coaches, podcasts to online courses, the opportunities are endless. This week, pick one activity you can invest your time in that doesn’t require an additional purchase. Read a chapter in a book you already have or listen to a podcast episode. Make a note of one thing you learned from that activity, and then implement it in your life.
Elevate Your Business
By constantly investing in your own learning and leadership, you will become a better business owner. If you get into the habit of doing this for 5-10 minutes a day (or a week), over time you’ll see yourself elevate as a leader in your company. That will rub off on your team, as well. Our clients do pay us for our knowledge and expertise. As your company grows, your clients are also paying for the knowledge and expertise of your staff. If you take the lead and place an emphasis on self-development of yourself and your team, you business will reap the benefits for years to come.
